Intuppukana Churna – Benefits, Usage, Indications and Dosage

Introduction

Intuppukana Churna is an herbal formulation. This consists of mixture of herbs. This is also known as intuppukana churnam. The intuppu, also known as rock salt, known for its coolant properties. This is known to treat the problems of digestion.

Ingredients

  • Intuppu (Rock salt)
  • Ajamoda (Trachyspermum ammi)
  • Pippali (Piper longum)
  • Haritaki (Terminalia chebula)

Method of preparation

Take the ingredients in its provided amount, rock salt up to 10 grams, pippali up to 40 grams, haritaki up to 60 grams and ajamoda up to 20 grams.

Roast the rock salt on low flame.

Grinded all the ingredients separately, mixed properly and your Intuppukana Churna is ready.

Dose

One to three grams with hot water or sour buttermilk, one or two times a day, after meals.

Indications

  • Indigestion
  • Digestion power
  • Malabsorption

Contraindications

  • Over dose can cause gastric irritation.
  • Avoid in hypertension.
