Ayaskriti (Ayaskruti) – Benefits, Usage, Indications and Dosage

Introduction

Ayaskriti (Ayaskruti) is an herbal formulation in which the word ayaskriti used to exhibit metals and minerals in a refined powder form, a nanoparticle form. It is a tonic in the condition of anemia. It is more commonly used in South India as a liquid Ayurvedic medicine. The word Ayas in sanskrit means Iron. The main mineral present in the ayaskriti is iron. Iron is an integral part of hemoglobin, about two third iron present in the hemoglobin. So very helpful to maintain blood and related disorders, immunity and more.

Method of Preparation

  • Take the herbs of kvatha dravya and make the decoction of these.
  • Mix jaggery (guda) to the decoction and then filter.
  • Next step is the addition of honey to the decoction.
  • Now take the herbs of Prakshepaka dravyas and make their paste.
  • Add this paste to the decoction and transfer to another pot.
  • The pot already coated with honey, powder of long pepper and ghee.
  • Place this pot on the bundle of barley.
  • The thin iron sheets are heated to red hot by using khadir as a herbal fuel.
  • Dip these hot sheets in the decoction.
  • This process is conducted several times till whole iron turns in to powder form and gets dissolved in the decoction.
  • After iron dissolution, the pot is covered and sealed and starts the fermentation process.
  • On completion of fermentation, fermented material is filtered and placed in a tightly closed jar.
  • Keep it away from moisture and light.

Dosage

12-24 ml twice a day, after taking food.
