Dharampal Singh – Someone who couldn’t trace the quality cure for Ulcerative Colitis

Patiala, a royal city that is famous for having Punjabi University, NIS (National Institute of Sports), Rajendra Medical College and royal palaces that are built all over the city. Its medical college is in the name of Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the first President of India. Having such a colorful history, still it lacks in finding a cure for Ulcerative Colitis (UC).

Dharampal Singh belonged to a small town named Ghannaur that falls in this district only. Actually he is a school teacher over there. At first he had loose motions in November 2012 and had some easy tablets that stopped his stools, but these kept coming back again and again. And he unknowing anything serious just survived on these over the counter tablets for 2 months. After 2 months in January 2013 he got tested in a lab that did his stool test and did his colonoscopy and told him the result, it was UC and advised him to get the treatment done from Patiala at a renowned hospital, because Ghannaur was a small down lacking quality in the medical fields.

So he came to Patiala and went straight to this renowned hospital and that hospital did his various tests and told him that it was confirmed that he had UC, but they did have the medicines that can cure him, but it will take its own time and told him that it is a long process, but the disease will begin reducing and fade away one day. He agreed and the medication began that stretched to almost a year and his condition deteriorated and pus and bleeding also started happening with the stools, which increased to 10, 12 times a day. One day he felt humiliated and had a fight with the doctor who was treating him, in a fit of rage he even abused the doctor who had never given him any medicine that can heal him, but instead had increased the symptoms. But the security present at the hospital saved the day by solving the trouble amicably.

After the Patiala episode he came to Chandigarh and went straight to a reputed hospital that had the remedy for all diseases. He showed them all his disease related papers and the doctors assured him that they do have a remedy that will heal him, but it will take some time and he has to come and go from Chandigarh to Patiala a number of times. He agreed as he felt humiliated and wanted this disease to drive away as soon as possible. He was served with medicines that had steroids in them, but even these medicines did show some effect initially but withered away very soon showing negligible results. “What now?” After suffering from this disease for so many years he felt aghast and didn’t know what to do?

But his nightmare continued and he had to take a long leave from school, but during the examination time he used to go to school and on one fine day another teacher from Manakpur had come to Ghannaur and he knew that teacher and had a discussion with him about his disease. That teacher said that a colleague lady teacher of his had the same problem, but she found a treatment and gave Dharampal her mobile number. He contacted her and asked her how and from where and she mentioned the name of Planet Ayurveda in Mohali.

He took an appointment with the doctors for the next day. A relative of his lived in Chandigarh and he came to Chandigarh the same day and decided to visit the place the next day at 9:30am.

As he was fed up of visiting various hospitals at different places and was thinking that at least this time this hospital should be effective. But he wanted to check its authenticity.

After the greetings he showed him the disease related papers and various labs tests done and also narrated his own history. The doctors scrutinized the whole reports very keenly and after some discussion with themselves turned towards Dharampal Singh and said, “Look sir, you need to follow the prescription strictly or you will deteriorate the whole condition. And take Ulcerative Colitis Care Pack and note down the diets that you have to consume and which one to avoid. But he called after 15, 16 days and his voice said it all. “I feel elated as the pain has stopped, so has the pus and bleeding, even the stools have decreased to 3, 4 a day. I’ll continue having the same medicine for as long as I don’t get fully normal and thanks a lot sir.” “OK” the doctor replied “Get well soon.”

After a 4 month period he again visited the Planet Ayurveda and with a box of sweets for everybody who is working here. “Now I am totally normal, Sir,” he said. “Now you don’t need the medicine any more but stick to the diet prescribed by me,” said the doctor. “Sir even I opted for Ayurvedic medicine at Patiala but that medicine had no effect whereas your medicine cured me within 4 months, why, what’s the difference?” he questioned the doctor. “That’s the difference, we don’t rely on quantity but rely on the quality and see to it that all medicines are made from organic, plants, trees and herbs,” the doctor replied. Dharampal was still thanking the doctor for providing the quality medicine that rectified his disease.
