About Blood Pressure

Blood pressure is the pressure of the blood against the walls of the blood vessels. A blood pressure reading has a top number, which is known as systolic pressure and bottom number which is known as diastolic pressure. A diastolic blood pressure number of less than 80 is considered normal. If this number is between 80 and 89, then it indicates low blood pressure and this condition is known as prehypertension. If this number is 90 or more than 90 then it is considered higher and this condition is known as hypertension.
