Chyavana Prasha

Introduction

Chyavana Prasha is one of the famous ayurvedic formulation that is prepared from well-known herbs, which have an effective impact on health improvement. This formulation helps to rejuvenate the body that further improves body’s functioning, memory, immunity and intelligence etc. One of the main ingredient present in this formulation is Amla. It is known for the properties like diuretic, heart tonic, digestive, anti-diabetic, anti-inflammatory, anti-ulcerative and many more.

Method of Preparation

  • Take the powder form ingredients from number 1 to 35 up to 48 grams.
  • Mix all these ingredients with 500 fruits of Amalaki.
  • Boil above mixture in 12.28 liters of water.
  • When this water gets fully boiled, take out the decoction and Amalaki fruits.
  • Remove the seeds from the fruits and fry in 567 gram of ghee.
  • Add these to the decoction.
  • Take this paste along with 2.4 kg sugar and boil with decoction till the decoction gets its semi solid consistency.
  • Now cool it down and add the ingredients from number 37 to 43.
  • After this process, Chyavana Prasha is prepared.

Dose

10 to 15 grams, two times a day, after meals, with milk.
