Gotukola capsules of Planet Ayurveda are prepared by using pure extract of Gotukola (Centella asiatica).
Gotukola (Centella asiatica) is an herbaceous plant that is traditionally used in Ayurveda for centuries for healthy memory as well as for other health purposes. This Perennial Plant is popularly known as Mandukaparni, in Sanskrit language. The Plant grows in tropical swampy areas. The stems of this plant are slender and are green to reddish green in color. The leaves of this plant are about 2 cm in length and are borne on Pericladial petioles. The leaf extract of this plant is used to make these capsules. Gotukola contains various alkaloids, sterols, tannins, triterpenes and glycosides in it. Recently, three new compounds were also isolated from the aerial parts of this herbaceous plant which include centellin, asiaticin and centellicin.
