What is Kola Nut?
Kola nut is a medium sized tree which grows about 13 to 20 cm in height with short branches. The bark is dark green or grey in color. Leaves are dark green in color and its flowers are a whitish or creamy color. The Seeds contain high caffeine content and are aromatic (have a pleasant smell).
Nut extracts are used in candies, ice cream, carbonated drinks, baked goods etc. Its botanical name is Cola acuminate and it belongs to family Sterculiaceae.
