Overview

Dr. Vikram Chauhan (MD-Ayurveda) is the CEO and Founder of Planet Ayurveda and Krishna Herbal Company. He is an expert Ayurveda consultant from Chandigarh and practicing in Mohali, India. He has vast experience of herbs and their applied uses.

An event called Satsang and International Yoga Event season which will take place in Rishikesh and is hosted by Ms. Marina Wolny Kumar and Mr. Sohan Kumar. This event will consist of a series of talks, interviews and workshops at The Lily Hotel, Rishikesh. The main event will be the Mind Body Spirit forum. Dr. Vikram Chauhan will be visiting Rishikesh on February 22nd, 2017 during the Satsang and International Yoga Event season to deliver a lecture either on:-

1. Ayurveda – How it can Help you to Prevent and Fight Diseases in your Life?

Ayurveda is considered to be the oldest system of holistic healing. Ayurveda is based on three doshas Vata, Pitta and Kapha and diseases originate from an imbalances in these three energies. The main goal of Ayurveda is longevity. It has healed everything from infertility to digestive ailments.

2. How Tastes Heal our Body or Cause Diseases?

According to Ayurveda, there are six main rasas/tastes and they are Madhur (sweet), Amla (sour), Lavan (salty), Katu (pungent), Tikta (bitter) and Kshaya (astringent).

These tastes are a combination of two mahabhutas (elements) each:

  • Sweet – Water + Earth
  • Sour – Water + Fire
  • Salty – Earth + Fire
  • Pungent – Air + Fire
  • Bitter – Air + Ether
  • Astringent – Air + Earth

These tastes are also related to doshas.

Aggravated by – Astringent, bitter and pungent rasas.

Vitiated by – Sweet and salty rasas.

Pitta Dosha and Rasa:

Aggravated by – Pungent, sour and salty rasas.
