Introduction

Ashmari bhedan yoga is a herbal composition. This Ayurvedic formulation is effective in Ashmari (stones).

Ingredients

  1. Gokharu mool
  2. Talmakhana
  3. Eranda mool
  4. Kantakari Mool
  5. Brihati mool

Description of Ingredients

  1. Gokharumool (Roots of Tribulus terrestris) – Gokshur has a diuretic property. It pacifies Vata dosha. It is useful in calculus, polyuria, dysuria etc. It has aphrodisiac properties also.
  2. Talmakhana (Asteracantha longifolia) – It has madhura (sweet), amla (sour) and tikta (bitter) taste. It pacifies Vata dosha. It is effective in indigestion, oedema, calculus etc.
  3. Eranda mool (Roots of Ricinus communis) – It has purgative and astringent action. It pacifies Kapha dosha. It is useful in colicky pains, headache, fever, constipation etc.
  4. Kantakari mool (Roots of Solanum xanthocarpum) – Roots of this plant are useful in stones, asthma, cough, anorexia etc. It has digestive actions. It pacifies Vata and Kapha dosha.
  5. Brihati mool (Roots of Solanum indicum) – It has katu (pungent) and tikta (bitter) taste. It is helpful in anorexia, stones, skin diseases, asthma etc. It has astringent and digestive action.

Method of Preparation

  • Take all above ingredients in equal amount.
  • Abrading these drugs with milk.
  • After that add sweet curd with this mixture.

Medicinal Properties

Ashmari bhedan yoga is an Ayurvedic formulation. The ingredients in this formulation have diuretic properties and have astringent property which breaks the stone in the ureter or kidney. It has analgesic properties also.

  • Colicky pain

Dosage

Take this powder with sweet curd for seven days twice a day.
