Review of Planet Ayurveda in Jammu | Case Study #5

Harshit, a 3 year old toddler from Jammu, had a very low platelet count just 8,000 per micro liter of blood, to be precise. Actually he had fallen sick and after the fever, he had rashes on his skin and bleeding profusely from the nose, making his parents do the tests like CBC done at a local lab. He got his blood tested which told them about a low count and what difficulties he might face, because he had already lost a lot of blood when his nose bled, making it an arduous task for the doctors who were attending him. They warned his parents that such toddlers incur wounds easily while playing inside or outside their home, and before anything bad happens, get him treated at some reputed hospital. They themselves recommended Dayanand Medical College and hospital (DMC) at Ludhiana (Manchester of India).

Without wasting much time, they packed their belongings and reached Ludhiana by train. The same day they visited DMC and showed the doctors Harshit’s all reports. The doctors after studying them insisted on admitting him in the hospital, to do various tests. They did transfuse platelets but the platelet count enhanced by a small margin, a mere 10,000 per micro liter of blood. There they also did a test called bone marrow aspiration, to confirm the cause and it was confirmed. They kept asking for more tests and giving him lots of medicines and injections. His condition didn’t improve much. He remained admitted for 15-16 days but showed little improvement. Finally, the family thought that let’s try some other hospital, it seems to be a complete wastage of time here. So they took permission from the doctors and left in a sad state of mind.

He inquired from his relatives where to go, to which they replied that take Harshit to PGI, Chandigarh, which held a little better reputation than DMC Ludhiana. So the whole family shifted to this place and the first test was conducted by the doctors revealed that his platelet count was still very low mere 19,000 per micro liter of blood. A normal person has around 1,50,000 to 4,50,000 per micro liter of platelets. So Harshit got admitted in PGI and he was tested and given many doses for increasing his platelets count, but all proved futile, making his family run from one department to another to do various tests and visit different doctors. Ultimately some doctors suggested that Harshit’s spleen should be removed by surgery. But he began crying and they wiped his tears and consoled him that spleen was destroying his healthy red blood cells causing shortage of platelet count.

But the fact was his dad never was interested in persuading the case as Harshit was not improving and even after spending 2 weeks in PGI he himself was about to discover something else. Whenever he got the time he used to search Youtube to find some natural cures for Harshit, and he did the right thing as he was about to reach his final destination, Planet Ayurveda. His dad first of all checked the authenticity and when became clear he contacted them by ringing them up. He told the problem and asked when he can meet the doctors. Anytime, came the reply and the very next day the whole family went from PGI to Planet Ayurveda clinic in Mohali by a cab.
