Praveen Upadhyay’s Nephew with Low Platelet Count

Praveen Upadhyay’s nephew was just 4 years old when he was diagnosed with ITP. Once a mild fever did attack him and the doctors at Agra did his blood tests in which platelets were low and to confirm done bone marrow test and said his platelet count is below normal mere 13,000. Little red spots also appeared on his skin all over the body. The doctors advised them to go to New Delhi that is considered to be the hub of medical facilities. They took him there and got him admitted to the most prestigious hospital. The doctors did inject some costly injections in his body that were laced with steroids. As everybody knows that steroids carry lots of side effects, he became fat and saw the growth of hair on his mouth. Moustache sprouted up. He was just 4 years old and appeared like a young man who couldn’t gain height.

They stopped giving him the injections but searched on the internet to find a cure in any other medical field, maybe Homeopathy, Unani or Ayurveda. He took their number from their website and dialed and a very sweet voice of a lady picked the phone up and asked him that how Planet Ayurveda can help him. She told him the address and did fix their date of arrival and asked him to bring along all the papers related to his nephew’s disease, all the lab reports and clinic slips the different doctors have given them and she also asked, “Can you reach clinic at 9:30 am, that’s the time this clinic opens.” She also told him that the doctor’s examine on a first come first serve basis.

This duo pair of nephew and uncle arrived in Chandigarh a day earlier and spent the night with their relative who lived there. The next day, both got up early and reached the Planet Ayurveda at 9:30 am in Mohali. Both were highly impressed with the number of people thronging at their threshold. Both entered its premises and were pleasantly more surprised to see Planet Ayurveda’s lobby brimming with more people. They went straight to the receptionist, who had a lovely face as she always kept smiling. Both sat down and waited for their turn that came about 1:10pm and both were ushered into the room of the doctor, who was sitting behind a big table. After the initial greetings the doctor asked them to hand over his disease related papers that he did so in a humble way. The doctor saw his nephew’s ITP count was quite low. The doctor scanned them carefully and after finishing asked him to tell him the history of his nephew and he did do that in a true manner. When he was speaking the doctor kept writing the names of a few medicines on that sheet.
