Bhavana and her hubby Mr. Deepak Sharma both came to Planet Ayurveda to find a remedy for Ulcerative Colitis (UC), which could not be found anywhere else. Patiala city has a renowned medical college that holds quite a reputation, but it also failed to provide her the relief. It all began with loose motions a year back. She suffered from loose motions initially and she thought she might have eaten something nasty, that’s why she felt a mild pain in her abdomen and suffered from loose motions. But after a few days the cramps in the abdomen surfaced again with more severity and she asked her hubby to take him to a physician.

He took her to the renowned hospital and the doctors analyzed her condition and asked her to undergo several tests, like the blood test, endoscopy and colonoscopy. Both went to a popular lab and got her tested and went back to the doctor after getting the lab reports the next day. The doctor scanned the reports and frowned a little bit. Her hubby got curious to know and said, “What’s wrong doctor? Is everything fine or is it something bad,” and told him the details that she suffered loose motions a few days back.

“This is what I feared, she has Ulcerative Colitis but don’t worry, I am going to prescribe some medicines that will definitely heal her,” said the doctor. Both heaved a sigh of relief and left after paying him his fees. Both went to a chemist and after giving the prescription slip asked the chemist, “Is it something serious or a minor disease, sir?” “This disease takes its own time to heal, but if this medicine is taken according to the doctor’s instructions it withers away very soon,” came the answer. “OK,” then he turned to his wife, “Take all the medicines as the doctor has prescribed and your disease will be over very soon and when did the doctor call us again?” She replied, “Next week.” “OK, I’ll leave you home and then go to my office” he said and she also agreed.

Both came home and after dropping her, he moved the car and went to his office. Bhavana took out her medicines and took them and went back to her bedroom and lied on the bed. She was still feeling uneasy due to the cramps in her stomach. So couldn’t even slept properly. After sometime she felt the urge to visit the toilet and this urge kept repeating again and again. The stools have enhanced to 6-7 times a day and she used to go 2-3 times during the night. Her condition didn’t improve a bit during the whole week. On her next visit to the doctor she narrated her condition to the doctor and said, “Doctor please give me a strong medicine that should cure me soon as I couldn’t go anywhere out as I never know when to visit the toilet,” but the doctor declined her request saying, “If I give you a strong dose, what will happen if this disease surfaces again, then no medicine will have any effect on it and it will go on throughout your life.” “Better be patient, this week I’ll give you a little stronger medicine, It will definitely bring relief.” He prescribed a different medicine and sent her away.

Even these medicines had worse effect and the stools increased to 12-15 times a day. She was in a terrible position. This treatment kept stretching for some months and both went to a different doctor and told him the details. That doctor took her hubby aside and said, “The medicine I am going to prescribe is laced with steroids, but don’t worry as steroids are the best cure for such a disease.” When Deepak came near his wife she asked, “What did the doctor say?” “Nothing, he has prescribed a strong medicine and promised that her disease will be driven away with this one,” said he. Even she thought that this time it might be over as she was feeling totally drained out.

Both got this medicine from a different chemist, as asked by the doctor, but even these had no effect and she was suffering, getting stressed, and irritable nature, frequently used to lose temper, but didn’t know what to do. After the greetings they showed him the disease related papers and various labs tests done and also narrated her family history.
