Noorin Jeevani – A name so alive but was infected by Ulcerative Colitis

Noorin Jeevani had come from Maharashtra, the state that has Bollywood film industry, and its capital Mumbai, is such a city that pays 70% income tax of whole of India. In such a rich state lived a lady called Noorin Jeewani meaning birth & popularity throughout your life, and she got infected by this abysmal disease. Initially she had loose motions only that subsided with a single tablet and everything was forgotten. She became busy with her routine job; she works in a private firm, and forgot all about her problem.

Consoling her, her hubby said, “Come on, you are a brave lady and you seem to have lost all hope, let’s get ready and visit some clinic and find a remedy,” forcing a smile he asked her. “I am not in a position to move,” she said reluctantly, “you go to your office and I’ll call a doctor who is going to examine me at home as I am having loose motions and never know when to visit the toilet again.” He got up and made the tea for himself and her and then had a bath, got ready and left for his office.

She kept lying in bed and called her family doctor at 10 am. The doctor said that he will come within half an hour, but came after an hour and began examining her. He had a nurse accompanying him and she did collect Noorin’s stool to do a test and asked her to visit their clinic the next day to do the colonoscopy test that will confirm her disease. After giving her some medicines, the doctor and the nurse left her premises. She took the medicine and again hit her sack. In the evening her hubby came and asked about all the proceedings and she told him the facts. He said, “Hope everything works out fine.”

The next day both went to the doctor’s clinic who did her colonoscopy test and sat behind a table grim faced. “What’ is the wrong doctor? You seem serious, is everything fine” her hubby asked. The doctor replied, “From her stools she appears to have acquired Ulcerative Colitis and I see that she will have to take medicines for a long time, may be life time to suppress this disease.” “Is it that bad doctor?” she asked. “Yep, this disease develops gradually due to a number of reasons and then fades away slowly, but I do have the medicine that will diminish it,” was the doctor’s reply. He then scribbled some medicines on a piece of paper and handed it over to her hubby after he had paid the doctor’s fees.

Both came out of his clinic and her hubby said, “Can you go home and take rest, I’ll push down to my office,” and before moving asked her to inform her boss all about her disease and take a long leave. She took a cab to reach home and on her way she dialed her boss’s phone and informed all about it. She came home and didn’t feel like doing anything and hit the sack straight away. The medicine continued having little effect on her, and she continued to suffer. In fact after a few days she saw the bleeding and mucus coming along with stools that had also increased in frequency to about 10, 12 times a day.

Both she and her hubby kept changing the doctors, hospitals and what not. The whole family was disturbed for 5 long years; she had to leave her job and didn’t know what to do. But she called after 15, 16 days and her voice said it all. “I feel elated as the pain has stopped, so has the bleeding, even the stools have decreased in frequency to 4, 5 a day. But after that they didn’t contact the HQ of Planet Ayurveda for 8 months but she emerged out of nowhere after 8 months in October 2016 and was feeling full of joys of spring.
