Introduction
Chandanbala Lakshadi Thailam (Oil) is an Ayurvedic formulation in the form of an oil. It aids in relieving burning sensation etc. Chandanbala Lakshadi Thailam (Oil) is used both externally and internally. It balances Pitta and Kapha doshas.
Ingredients
Decoction herbs:-
- Chandana (Santalum album)
- Bala (Sida cordifolia)
- Laksha (Laccifer lacca)
- Lamajjaka (Andropogon jwarancusa)
- Water – 24.576 liters
- Sesame Oil (Sesamum indicum)
Paste prepared with:-
- Chandana (Santalum album)
- Usheera (Vetiveria zizanioides)
- Licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra)
- Shatahva (Anethum sowa)
- Katurohini (Picrorhiza kurroa)
- Devadaru (Cedrus deodara)
- Turmeric (Curcuma longa)
- Kushta (Saussurea lappa)
- Manjishta (Rubia cordifolia)
- Agaru (Aquilaria agallocha)
- Bala (Pavoia odorata)
- Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera)
- Bala (Sida cordifolia)
- Darvi (Berberis aristata)
- Murva (Marsdenia tenacissima)
- Musta (Cyperus rotundus)
- Radish (Raphanus sativus)
- Cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum)
- Cinnamon (Cinnamomum zeylanicum)
- Nagakeshara (Mesua ferrea)
- Rasna (Pluchea lanceolata)

Method of Preparation
Make a decoction of the mentioned herbs and make a paste of the herbs mentioned under it. Now mix the paste in the decoction with sesame oil and boil it till it becomes a homogenous mixture. Filter it and store the filtrate in a bottle away from heat and light.
Medicinal Properties
Chandanbala Lakshadi Oil is Herbal oil which is prepared from various herbs. This oil has ability to pacify the pitta and kapha doshas in the body. It is useful in various ailments like respiratory problems, bleeding disorders. This formulation has different properties like analgesic, anti-pyretic, anti-spasmodic, antiseptic properties and it is coolant in nature. It can be applied all over the body for massage. It is useful to relieve itching, blisters, burning sensation in eyes, fever, headache, tiredness and emaciation. Due to its coolant properties it is useful to pacify the burning sensation. Use of Chandanbala Lakshadi Oil is quite effective in various respiratory ailments like cough, cold, asthma, tuberculosis. Apart from these it is useful in case of bleeding disorders like menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia or metrorrhagia or both) and oligospermia. It has antipyretic action and useful in all types of fevers. It helps to reduce the inflammation. It helps to reduce the burning sensation all over the body due to its coolant property. Apart from these it is useful in case of liver problem like jaundice and fatty liver.

Method of Usage
4 to 8 drops can be used for nasal instillation.
2 to 3 ml twice a day can be taken orally twice before meals with lukewarm water.
Contraindications
- Over dosage might cause loose stools.
- Self-medication should be strictly avoided.
