MID-MORNING

Plain chapatti / Boiled Rice / Sago halwa / Khichri (sago + rice) / Vegetable + Dhuli Dal

EVENING-TEA

Soups (Home-made)

DINNER

Plain chapatti / Boiled Rice / Vegetable + Dhulli Dal / Grilled Fish / Low fat Paneer / Chicken (anyone, once a week)

DIET INSTRUCTIONS

EAT REGULARLY

Fruits – Apple, Pear, and Papaya

Vegetables – Pumpkin, Carrot, Cabbage, Turnip, Peas (Boil), Bottle Gourd, Bitter Gourd, Ridge Gourd, Boiled Carrots, Potatoes, Cauliflower, Cabbage, Winter Squash, Cabbage, and Onion.

Dry Fruits – 5 Almonds (soak in water overnight)

Flesh Foods – Egg White Only

Dairy Foods – Skimmed Milk, Low-Fat Curd, Low Fat Paneer

Pulses – Split Dal, Split with Skin Removed

Fats – Sunflower Oil, Desi Ghee, Rice Bran Oil. 500 ml cooking oil should be used by one person per month. Oil brand should be changed after every three months.

Spices – Coriander, Mint, Black Pepper, Cumin, Fennel, Salt (Limited).

Drinks – Tea, Mineral Water, Clear Soups.

Note – Skipping meals should be avoided, especially the breakfast.

AVOID EATING

Cereal Foods – Sweet Biscuits, Cream-Filled Biscuits, Cream Crackers, Cheese Biscuits, Noodles, Pasta, Macaroni, Brown Rice, Brown Bread

Pulses – Whole Dal, White Chana, Rajma, Black Chana, Roungi, Lobia, Sabut Moong Dal, Soybean and Its Products, Roasted Chane, Sattu.

Fruits – Bananas, Coconuts, Dates, Kiwi, Oranges, Lemons, Avocado, Apricot, Raisins, Tomato, Pomegranate, Watermelon, Figs and All Citrus Fruits.

Vegetables – All Green Leafy Vegetables, Soy Beans and Its Products, Beans, Tomato, Mushroom, Sweet Potato, Broccoli, Beetroot, Brussels Sprouts, Garlic, Cucumber, Arbi, Lotus Stem, French Beans.

Flesh Foods – Fish Fried in Suitable Oil, Prawns, Lobster, Crab, Lean Beef, Pork, Lamb, Ham, Very Lean Minced Meat, Turkey, Veal, Rabbit, Egg Yolk, Fish Roe, Sausages, Mutton, Salami, Bacon, Duck, Goose, Meat Pies, Visible Fat on Meat, Chicken Skin, Liver, Kidney, Chest.

Dairy Foods – Whole Milk and Cream, Full-Fat Yogurt, Cheese, Cream Cheese, Evaporated or Condensed Milk.

Fats – All Margarine, Shortening, Whole Fat, Lard, Sued, and Dripping.

Prepared Foods – Pastry, Puddings made with Whole Milk and Fat as Above, Salad Dressings made with Allowed Oil, Packed Soups, High-Fat Dressings or Mayonnaise, Cream Soups, Chocolates, Chocolate Spreads, Toffees, Fudge, Butter Scotch, Coconut Bars, Chips and Roasted Potatoes, Crisp, and Cheese Filled Snacks.

Drinks – Whole Milk Drinks, Cream-Based Liqueurs, Canned Soups and Packaged Soups, Packaged Juices, Coconut Juice, Lemon Water.

Note – if you are overweight, food high in sugar should be avoided and intake of suitable fats and oils strictly limited.
