Abstract

Kanjunnyadi Tailam is a classical herbal oil formulation which is indicated for hair related problems like splits, hair fall, graying, etc. It is also known as Kayyanyadi tailam. It is applied over the scalp like routinely hair oil as the head is the most significant vital body part. It nourishes and conditions hair, scalp. This article deals with Kanjunnyadi oil composition, benefits and dosage. 

Introduction

It is medicated oil preparation which contains seven ingredients and as the name suggests kanjunnyadi thailam its main ingredient is kanjuna (bhringraj- Eclipta alba). In this oil, herbs are induced in a medium of sesame oil along with herbal water decoction. This formulation contains oil soluble and water soluble herbal phyto- active principles of herbs.

  • Madhuka (Glycyrrhiza glabra)
  • Anjana (Berberis aristata)
  • Cow’s milk
  • Coconut oil

Method Of Preparation

  • Then make a paste of kalka dravya and prepare decoction of drugs.
  • Then mix paste and decoction of herbs properly and stir it continuously.
  • Then add coconut oil to the solution and mix it properly.
  • At last filter the solution properly and store in an airtight glass container.
  • Keep the container away from direct sunlight.
