Kushmanda Rasayana

Introduction
Kushmanda Rasayana is an herbal formulation in the form of a jam. It provides nourishment to the respiratory system, enhances immunity and provides strength. It can also be called Kushmanda rasayana, Kushmanda avaleha, Kushmanda lehyam. The main ingredient of this herbal formulation is Ash gourd. It rejuvenates the body.
Ingredients
- Ash gourd (Cucurbita pepo)
- Long pepper (Piper longum)
- Ginger (Zingiber officinalis)
- Cumin (Cuminum cyminum)
- Cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum)
- Patra (Cinnamomum tamala)
- Cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum)
- Black pepper (Piper nigrum)
- Coriander seeds (Coriandrum sativum)
- Sugar
- Honey
Method of Preparation
Chop and skin the Ash gourd and deseed it and boil it in some water and squeeze it to obtain the juice. Slightly sauté the pulp in clarified butter and add sugar in it. Continue heating it till it reaches a semi solid consistency. After this add the remaining ingredients. After the entire is cool to the touch add honey. The entire product is made in a copper vessel.
Dosage
5 to 15 grams can be consumed with milk or lukewarm water before meals twice a day.
