Maha Panchagavya Ghrita
Introduction
Maha Panchagavya Ghrita is an ayurvedic formulation. This formulation is known to contain mixture of fruitful herbs. Ghee is used as a base in this formulation. This is very helpful to treat problems related with liver, inflammation and psychiatric etc.
Ingredients
96 grams of each of (1 to 13)
1. Dashamoola group of roots
- Bilva – Aegle marmelos
- Agnimantha – Premna mucronata
- Shyonaka – Oroxylum indicum
- Gambhari – Gmelina arborea
- Patala – Stereospermum suaveolens
- Shalaparni – Desmodium gangeticum
- Prinshnaparni – Urarica picta
- Gokshura – Tribulus terrestris
- Brihati – Solanum indicum
- Kantakari – Solanum xanthocarpum
2. Triphala – Haritaki (Terminalia chebula), Vibhitaki (Terminalia bellirica) Amla (Emblica officinalis)
3. Haridra – Turmeric
4. Daruharidra – Berberis aristata
5. Kutaja – Holarrhena antidysenterica
6. Saptaparna – Alstonia scholaris
7. Apamarga – Achyranthes aspera
8. Nilini – Indigofera tinctoria
9. Katurohini – Picrorhiza kurroa
10. Shampaka – Cassia fistula
11. Pushkaramoola – Inula racemosa
12. Phalgumoola – Ficus carica
13. Duralabha – Alhagi psudalhagi
14. Water for decoction – 12.288 liters, boiled and reduced to 3.072 liters

- Shreyasi – Gajapippali – Scindapsus officinalis
- Sariva – Hemidesmus indicus
- Madayantika – Lawsonia inermis
- Agni – Plumbago zeylanica
- Nichula – Barringtonia acutangula
16. Gomaya swarasa – the water extract prepared from cow dung – 768 ml
17. Ksheera – Cow milk – 768 ml
18. Dadhi – Cow curd – 768 ml
19. Mutra – Cow urine – 768 ml
20. Ghritham – Ghee – 768 grams
Method of Preparation
- Take the above ingredients and combine.
- Heat the mixture till herbal ghee is prepared.
Dose
Quarter to half teaspoon, one to two times a day, before food, with water.
