Introduction
Manjishtadi Thailam (Oil) is an ayurvedic formulation. This is formulated from the mixture of many herbs. This is known to treat problems related with eyes and head.
Ingredients
Take the following herbs up to 96 grams together to prepare paste:-
- Manjishta – Rubia cordifolia
- Haritaki – Terminalia chebula
- Vibhitaki – Terminalia bellirica
- Amalaki – Emblica officinalis / Phyllanthus emblica
- Jatiphala – Myristica fragrans
- Anjana – Aqueous extract of Berberis aristata
- Dalchini – Cinnamomum zeylanicum
- Chanda – Cosstus speciosus
- Mriganabhi – Musk
- Ela – Elettaria cardamomum
- Patra – Cinnamomum tamala
- Sariva – Hemidesmus indicus
- Musta – Cyperus rotundus
- Katuka – Picrorhiza kurroa
- Raktachandana – Pterocarpus santalinus
- Jatamamsi – Nardostachys jatamansi
- Tagara – Valeriana wallichi
- Agaru – Aquilaria agallocha
- Shati – Hedychium spicatum
- Kushta – Saussurea lappa
- Mulethi – Glycyrrhiza glabra
- Nagakeshara – Mesua ferrea
- Lotus – Nymphaea stellata
- Hrivera – Pavonia odorata
- Kamal – Nelumbium speciosum
- Usheera – Vetiveria zizanioides
- Karpoora – Cinnamomum camphora
- Til oil – Oil of Sesamum indicum (768 ml)
- Cow milk (768 ml)
- Aloe vera juice extract (768 ml)
Method of Preparation
Take all the ingredients and add to Sesame oil and prepare the oil by oil paak method.
Medicinal Properties
Manjishtadi Thailam is an Ayurvedic oil for external use. It balances the vata and pitta doshas. Herbs used in the formulation of this medicine are packed with the anti-inflammatory, anti-stress, soothing properties which are best indicated in almost all skin diseases. It helps to calm nervous system. Massage with this oil is very effective to alleviate the headache and mental stress even quite good in vertigo and dizziness. It can also take care of eyes problems.
