Raja Pravartini Vati – Benefits, Usage, Indications and Dosage

Raja Pravartini Vati (also spelled as Rajah Pravartini Vati and called as Kasisadi Vati) is an ayurvedic medicine available in the form of tablet used for the treatment of various primary and secondary women’s health problems. Its main effects appear on uterus and ovaries. These tablets stimulate the ovulation and corrects the ovarian functions. It also promotes the menstrual discharge due to its emmenagogue action. Raja Pravartini Vati is helpful in the treatment of amenorrhea, oligomenorrhea, dysmenorrhea associated with light menstruation or scanty periods and backache during menstruation. It is beneficial when patient feels outflow obstruction during menstruation. This medicine should only be taken under medical supervision.

Ingredients

10 g fine powder of each of:-

  • Ghritkumari – Aloe vera
  • Kaseesa – Purified Blue Vitriole
  • Tankana – Borax
  • Hing – Asa foetida

How to Make?

Make fine powder of all ingredients and is triturated with aloe vera juice. When thick paste is prepared tablets are made. Dry these tablets & preserve it.

Dosage

(125 – 250 mg) or 1 – 2 tablets once or twice a day, before or after food or as directed by Ayurvedic doctor. It is usually given starting from fourth week of menstrual cycle till onset of menstruation. The medicine should be stopped soon after onset of menstruation, or after 2 – 3 days.

  • Treats absence of periods and scanty bleeding in periods.
  • Improves chances of conceiving.
  • Reduces menstrual pain and improves quality of life
  • Carminative, laxative and anti-spasmodic properties

Side Effects

Its overdose may cause severe menstrual bleeding.

Note – Should avoid during pregnancy.
