Talisadi Churna

Introduction

Talisadi churna is an amazing Ayurvedic powdered formulation for curing cough, anorexia, digestive disorders like Irritable Bowel Syndrome, low digestive fire. It melts the excess kapha that is deposited in the lungs and also pacifies pitta. It acts as an expectorant and is a Bronchodilator.

Ingredients

  • Talispatra / Indian silver fir (Abies webbiana)
  • Black pepper (Piper nigrum)
  • Dried ginger (Zingiber officinalis)
  • Long pepper (Piper longum)
  • Vanshlochan (Bamboo manna)
  • Cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum)
  • Cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum)
  • Rock candy

Method of Preparation

Clean all the ingredients and grind them separately till a fine powder is obtained. Add the rock candy when all the ingredients have been crushed and combined. When everything is finally incorporated, store it in an airtight container away from heat, light and moisture.

Medicinal Properties

Talisadi Churna has so many healing properties like Antitussive, Bronchodilator, Expectorant (mild), Mucolytic, Anti-inflammatory, Antiviral, Antibacterial, Antimicrobial and Carminative etc.

It is useful Ayurvedic remedy for respiratory problems, as it provides relief from discomfort of asthma by reducing its frequency of occurrence. Its anti-inflammatory effect can manage bronchitis and shortness of breath. It helps to get rid of both productive and non-productive cough and is suitable herbal remedy for cold, running nose and throat irritation. Its antitussive and mucolytic activities support in reducing sputum production and reduces the already mucus formed. It is even suitable in managing chronic fever associated with respiratory disorder. It can lessen the chest pain and tightness.

This Ayurvedic medicine is very useful in digestive ailments even. It can enhance the appetite in conditions like anorexia, loss of appetite or indigestion. It can be indicated in irritable bowel syndrome also. It brings relief by controlling vomiting. Also good for managing diarrhea. It is beneficial remedy for spleen and liver diseases too.

Contraindications
