What is Stone-Root?
Stone-Root is an effective Ayurvedic perennial herb in the mint family that has a strong and unpleasant smell and used to treat urinary tract infections.
The botanical name of the Stone-Root is Collinsonia canadensis and it belongs to family Lamiaceae and its higher classification is Collinsonia.
Its other names are Knob Root, Knob Grass, Hardhack, Horse Weed, Heal-all, Rich Weed, Rich leaf.
It is widely spread primarily east of the Mississippi River, in eastern North America.
The natural habitat of the Stone-Root is nutrient-rich mesic forest, mostly in calcareous and rocky areas.

Here are some medicinal uses of Stone-Root:
- This is most effective in kidney stones, piles, and rheumatoid arthritis.
- It acts as an anti-spasmodic, diuretic, vasodilator, spasmodic, diaphoretic and tonic.
- Also useful in the treatment of piles, diarrhea, indigestion etc.
